Apple's New URL Shortener?

Apparently Apple has owned 'itun.es' for that last four years. With Apple releasing Twitter support for Ping, they have started using itun.es as a URL shortener. If someone tweets a link to content on the iTunes Store, it will show up as an itun.es link. This does not apply to most third party twitter applications, but it is still quite cool that apple has rolled out their own URL shortener.
